Notice of Fee Increase - $75

Effective January 1, 2018, California Government Code Section §27388.1 (SB2 - Building Homes and Jobs Act) requires that documents accepted for recording at the Trinity County Recorder's Office be charged an additional seventy-five dollars ($75) fee per title, unless exempted by statute.

The Clerk/Recorder is responsible for recording, filing and the preservation of documents and indexes pertaining to land title in the county; as well as those pertaining to liens or encumbrances on land.  

What the Clerk/Recorder Does:

  •     Issuing public and confidential Marriage Licenses
  •     Performing Civil Ceremonies
  •     Issuing certified copies of Marriage Certificates
  •     Registering Birth and Death Records
  •     Issuing certified copies of Birth Certificates
  •     Issuing certified copies of Death Certificates
  •     Filing Fictitious Business Name Statements
  •     Records/Files authorized documents & maps
  •     Collects transfer tax and other fees
  •     Issues exact copies of recorded documents

The Clerk/Recorder Does NOT:

  •     Notarize Documents
  •     Give legal advice regarding documents
  •     Assist in completing documents
  •     Verify the accuracy of documents
