Become an IHSS Provider

How do I enroll to become a new IHSS care provider?

You can request a New Provider Enrollment packet in-person at the IHSS Office or by calling the office at 530-623-8209. You will be scheduled for New Provider Orientation which is a free in-person training course conducted by IHSS staff that will provide basic understanding of the program and your responsibilities as an IHSS Care Provider.

Hepatitis A Outbreak

TRINITY COUNTY - Outbreaks of Hepatitis A disease continue in two California counties (Santa Cruz and San Diego) as well as in Arizona and Utah. As of Aug. 20, two residents of Trinity County have tested positive for Hepatitis A disease. The HHS Public Health Department, in conjunction with Environmental Health, is working closely with California Department of Public Health to monitor and respond to the increase in Hepatitis A cases in our community.

Trinity County Public Health reminds consumers to use safe food preparation and storage measures to prevent foodborne illness. Bacteria that can be found in foods such as meat and poultry may cause illness if they are insufficiently cooked, inadequately cooled or improperly handled.

About 48 million illnesses, 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths in the U.S. each year are related to foodborne diseases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
