COVID-19 Activity
Question:
Regarding the latest order by Trinity County Health and Human Services to require face coverings by all individuals, vaccinated or not, while in indoor settings. I very much agree and am happy to see this order go out however I am concerned regarding it's enforcement. Are there dedicated individuals that are responsible for enforcing this both inside county facilities and outside around town in private businesses? Also is there a dedicated point of contact where the public can report violations of this order while in effect?
Answer:

Thank you for this question. Just to Clarify, the Order comes from the County Health Officer who by law is able to implement orders to protect the public. Violations to Health Officer Orders are dealt with by law enforcement and state enforcement agencies such as Cal/OSHA, Alcohol Beverage Control, as well as code and other regulatory oversight

Notifications of violations can come through any of the following:

  • Cal/OSHA District Office Region 2 Redding. Phone: (530) 224-... Read more

COVID-19 Vaccine
Question:
My 26 year old, unvaccinated granddaughter is recovering from the Delta variant. She spent 12 days in extreme misery, lost 14 pounds, and experienced every symptom. Should she get vaccinated and, if so, how soon? Or does she now have immunity? Thank you for all your hard work.
Answer:

We recommend waiting until acute infection has passed and the isolation window is over as per CDC guidelines:

"Vaccination of people with known current SARS-CoV-2 infection should be deferred until the person has recovered from the acute illness (if the person had symptoms) and they have met criteria to discontinue isolation. This recommendation applies to people who experience SARS-CoV-2 infection before receiving any vaccine dose and those who experience... Read more

Question:
What is the current transmission rate for Trinity County?
Answer:

Thank you for this question. The Calcat site found here https://calcat.covid19.ca.gov/cacovidmodels/ is where you can find the R-effective, which is a metric of the rate of transmission. On the "State & County" Click in the county drop down box and choose Trinity. Our R-effective rate at this time is 1.68, which means the spread of COVID-19 is likely rapidly increasing. We will be adding a link to this site on our Case Dashboard... Read more

COVID-19 Vaccine
Question:
I'm pregnant in my third trimester and hadn't planned to get vaccinated, but with the low vaccination rate in our county and the new information out about the Delta variant I have reconsidered. I don't have a primary care doctor and usually I just get medical services from the clinic. Can I get vaccinated at a POD? If not, what should I do? Thank you!
Answer:

COVID Vaccine is recommended for pregnant women, we do not provide COVID vaccine to pregnant women at our TCPHB PODS. We recommend pregnant women either get it in there provider office or can contact one of the clinics in Trinity County to request an appointment to be vaccinated this includes the MCHD Weaverville and Hayfork Clinics as well as the Rancheria Weaverville Community Clinic.
