Question:

Why is the case rate so different between CDPH case rate on our Trinity County Dashboard for our County and the data tracker from CDC?

Answer:

CDC sums the case rate over 7 days. This is a weekly case rate essentially, but they don’t call it that. CDPH takes 7 days and divides by 7, so it is the DAILY case rate. So CDC’s will always be about 7 times bigger, though not exactly because of time frame.

Question:

Since cases are exploding again, does the Health Director plan on instituting another mask order? How is the county working to keep elderly and vulnerable citizens safe from community members who are hell bent on spreading this deadly disease even as their community continues to lose lives to a preventable illness? Is there any legal action that can be taken against those who are not following health orders? How come the majority of the BOS refuse to wear masks in chambers, when there is a statewide order? How can our elected officials be held accountable for willfully violating health orders and putting their constituents in danger?

Answer:

There are three ways that individuals can protect themselves, their loved ones, and their children: 1. Get vaccinated with a primary series and a booster dose (TCPHB in partnership with providers, CVS, and SNAPNurse is committed to making vaccination and testing broadly available). There is much misinformation circulating regarding vaccines, we encourage persons to obtain accurate information based on science and we are happy to provide whatever information our residents need to make an... Question:

How has our infection rate gone up, but our case rate gone down (1/5/22)? Why were cases removed from the tally?

Answer:

The daily case rate went up because there were more cases identified during that 7-day period than we've had in the last couple of weeks. Cases were removed from the tally due to a data processing error by the state (see note below). These cases that were not reported were from a previous time period, not affecting the most recent 7-day rate. Today's update fixed the reporting issue.
