Question:
I've been trying since noon to make an appointment for my second shot. I gather there is a problem with myturn.ca.gov? When will the problem be fixed and I will be able to make an appointment?
Answer:

The MyTurn system is now open and theoretically persons can register for the second dose only PODS; HOWEVER, – Trinity County Public Health Branch (TCPHB) has been informed by members of the public of an issue with the MyTurn system in which some persons are being turned away from registering for their second dose.

COVID-19 Vaccine
Question:
I am wanting to register for my 2nd dose at the March 19th PODS. It says if you had a reaction to the first dose you should contact your doctor. I had redness that looked like a spider bite and mild itching at the injection site for 1-2 days after. Does that qualify as an allergic reaction or is that normal?
Answer:

The reactions you described are some of the known side effects (local reactions) with the COVID-19 vaccine and do not prevent you from getting your second dose. Contraindications to a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine would be an allergic reaction to the first dose that included hives or shortness of breath.

Question:
It states on the website you can not get your Covid shot if you have had a vaccine within the last 14 days. I had a shot in my knee by my orthopedic surgeon, a liquid that takes 3 days to turn to a gel cushion for my bone on bone problem. Does this shot count as a vaccine or am I ok to get my second dose as scheduled on the 5th?
Answer:

This is not a vaccine so you are able to get the COVID-19 immunization.

COVID-19 Vaccine
Question:
Hi, There has been some talk that the vaccine programs have been moved from the individual counties to the state. I have already had my 1st dose. When going onto the myturn website it states it will let me know when an appointment becomes available due to no priority. In Trinity County I got my shot based on the criteria of being 43 and a smoker. The criteria the state has set is different and no longer makes me eligible, it also makes no reference to 1st or second shot. Shouldn't 2nd dose be a priority also? Is there a way to ensure I get the second dose in a reasonable time frame? I know others who have these same questions. Thank you.
Answer:

Excellent question, as we transition to the public/private partnership with the Third Party Administrator to expand access to vaccination in Trinity County and ensure those at greatest risk are vaccinated, we will be providing second doses to all those that have received first doses for our PHB PODS. We will have the MyTurn ready prior to the March 5th PODS for persons to be able to register for their second dose.

COVID-19 Vaccine
Question:
For those who received their 1st dose of the vaccine on Feb 5-6, will they have priority in scheduling and registering for their 2nd dose in early March?
Answer:

Yes. The PODS on March 5th, 6th, 12th and 19th are for second doses only. Persons whose second dose is due will register for one of these PODS that fall under any of these categories: on or after 28 days from the first dose or if these PODS do not fall directly on the 28 day mark, in order to prevent delaying the second dose until the next PODS persons can receive the second dose up to 3 days prior to the 28 day mark - for example on the 25th day after receipt of first dose.
