Is the hospital trying to arrange vaccine distribution to at risk people. My 72 year old husband had bad reaction to Amoxicillin but never to a vaccine, ie. flu, pneumonia, shingles. He has factors which make him vulnerable to Covid so he needs the vaccine as soon as possible.
Answer:

We have begun to allocate vaccine to our hospitals that will then provide the vaccine to their clinic network. It is our goal that all clinics in Trinity County will vaccinate their clients, starting with those that are 65 years of age and older as well as those any age that have existing conditions that put them at risk. We encourage our residents to reach out to their healthcare providers on a regular basis to check if the vaccine is available through their healthcare provider.

How many total vaccines do you have available to administer during our first 2-day mass-Vax POD in Weaverville (now delayed one week due to weather)?
Answer:

We have 600 doses available at this time. We have had to accumulate those over time due to weekly shipments of 100 doses only to our County.

Question:
Why not allow folks over 75 on blood thinners to get vaccinated by the county? Seems like you're excluding a lot of high risk folks.
Answer:

In order to ensure the safety of those being vaccinated, we are excluding persons that have both contraindications and precautions that could put them at risk in a mass distribution setting such as our PODS. This does not mean they are not able to receive vaccine through other avenues such as their providers, a pharmacy, etc. once vaccine is available through other entities beyond the health department.

My vaccination appointment is in four days. What identification should I bring? (I asked this last week and have had no response.)
Answer:

We will be verifying appointment time at check in; however we do not check identification.

Question:
My wife and I have appointments for vaccinations in Weaverville. Do we need to bring evidence of non-positive TESTING?
Answer:

There is no need to bring any evidence regarding COVID-19 infection or a negative test result. According to the Moderna Vaccine guidance persons experiencing illness due to COVID-19 would wait until they have recovered from the acute illness before receiving vaccine. This is also true for any acute illness that is moderate or severe in nature (i.e., fever, etc.) that is present at the time of vaccination.

We checked online nonstop for registration, nothing... and called, leaving 4 voicemails. How is one supposed to have faith in this system? It feel familiar...like everything else around here. :(
Answer:

The online registration closes once the slots are filled. There will be more PODS dates coming soon with information on registration. We are working with state and local partners to address vaccine supply limitations and we are working to address any issues with registration systems.

I registered my parents for the vaccine event on 1/29 and 1/30. When will they receive an appointment time?
Answer:

The appointment time would be scheduled at the same time as registration by the person that is registering for the PODS. If you have not received an email confirming your scheduled time, you will need to contact public health for assistance. Only those who successfully registered for vaccination can schedule their appointment at this time. Answer:

We will be providing this information to the public no later than Friday of this week.

How does a trinity county resident who qualifies for the vaccine on 1/29/21 register? I am a social worker and my father is 86.
Answer:

We will have online registration available no later than this Friday and will put out a press release.

My husband is 78. The press release of 1/15 said that people could schedule a vaccine this week, but I have seen no news about that yet. When will the scheduling website be known to us?
