Coronavirus (COVID-19) Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19 Vaccine
Will upcoming vaccination PODS be offering “3rd dose” boosters?

Currently the only extra dose of COVID-19 vaccine, whether called a third dose or booster, under the EUA is Pfizer and Moderna for persons with specific immunocompromising conditions. To administer an extra dose to any person not eligible under this criteria constitutes "Off-Label" use and is prohibited. We are referring all persons that believe they qualify for this current third dose criteria seek vaccination through their medical provider, medical clinic, or pharmacy. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced a plan to begin offering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots more broadly this fall. CDC’s independent advisory committee, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, will continue to meet and discuss data on the evolution of the pandemic and the use of COVID-19 vaccines. ACIP will make further recommendations on the use of boosters for the public after a thorough review of the evidence.

Once approval is received and safety established for booster doses to all persons who received Pfizer and Moderna, TCPHB will make those doses available through each of our Mass Vaccination Mobile Sites.
