Adult Protective Services (APS) responds to reports from individuals, concerned citizens, social service and health providers, and law enforcement about adults with physical, mental, or development disabilities, or elders who may be physically or financially abused, neglected, or exploited, or who are unable to meet their own needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Upon receipt of a report, APS sends a social worker to make a home visit or contact the elder or dependent adult.
