Which test type is most accurate for non-symptomatic individuals?
Molecular or PCR tests remain the gold standard (collected specimens are sent to lab for testing, this includes Let's Get Checked Kits).
For the walk-in testing at Veterans Memorial Hall, for an asymptomatic person, do you need to bring identification or other documents, how long does the test result usually take to receive, and in what way is the test result transmitted (such as if we need to be able to show the test result to a business or agency). Thank you.
For SNAPnurse walk in testing, you will register no need to show ID, by registering you will receive results of your tests via text or email. Rapid (Antigen) test results transmit immediately upon negative or positive result after 15 minutes. When PCR tests are conducted to verify the results of the Antigen test those PCR tests usually come back within 72 hours.
Are masks required when working alone in a separate office space?
Exemptions to masking include "Persons who are working alone in a closed office or room".
It appears that your Death count is not up to date, according to your reporting there have been 9 deaths not 8 like the dashboard is currently reporting. According to your own records 12/07/20 1st Death, 12/15/20 2nd Death, 12/28/20 3rd Death, 12/29/20 4th Death, 01/25/21 5th Death, 06/23/21 6th Death, 08/12/21 7th Death, 08/18/21 8th Death, and 08/19/21 the 9th Death. Please let me know if I have been mistaken in my accounting but my records are based on your reports.
There have been 8 deaths in Trinity County due to COVID-19. The Press Release on 8/18/21 was not regarding any death but a health advisory on evacuation and COVID-19.
Regarding the latest order by Trinity County Health and Human Services to require face coverings by all individuals, vaccinated or not, while in indoor settings. I very much agree and am happy to see this order go out however I am concerned regarding it's enforcement. Are there dedicated individuals that are responsible for enforcing this both inside county facilities and outside around town in private businesses? Also is there a dedicated point of contact where the public can report violations of this order while in effect?
Thank you for this question. Just to Clarify, the Order comes from the County Health Officer who by law is able to implement orders to protect the public. Violations to Health Officer Orders are dealt with by law enforcement and state enforcement agencies such as Cal/OSHA, Alcohol Beverage Control, as well as code and other regulatory oversight
Notifications of violations can come through any of the following:
- Cal/OSHA District Office Region 2 Redding. Phone: (530) 224-... Read more
It would seem that an office that does not allow anyone except for employees to enter does not fall within the definition of a public space. Is that correct?
The Order includes workplaces, this includes all employees in businesses, government and private agencies, etc.
How often do you update the dashboard showing vaccine totals? I notice it isn’t updated often.
Our vaccine dashboard is updated every Thursday. We will not update on 8/5/2021 as we have staff that do this out this week. We will resume updating every Thursday beginning 8/12/2021.
What is the current transmission rate for Trinity County?
Thank you for this question. The Calcat site found here https://calcat.covid19.ca.gov/cacovidmodels/ is where you can find the R-effective, which is a metric of the rate of transmission. On the "State & County" Click in the county drop down box and choose Trinity. Our R-effective rate at this time is 1.68, which means the spread of COVID-19 is likely rapidly increasing. We will be adding a link to this site on our Case Dashboard... Read more
Have you been keeping track of the difference variants that are occurring in the Country? If so, will you share this information? Will you be tracking and reporting on the Delta variant?
Yes we are working with CDPH and Labs to conduct Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) on positive specimens that meet the criteria for WGS. CDPH is working with labs to ensure WGS is conducted to identify variants now and into the future. Surrounding counties have identified variants circulating in their counties. The most prominent in California at this time is the Delta variant. The CDC has deemed the Delta and P.1 variant as variants of concern due to their ability to transmit more easily and... Read more
