Seeing 11/09 dashboard for first time, am concerned about Community exposure. We all frequent the Hayfork places sited in the press release (Wileys, Discount, etc.). What do people in the vulnerable categories need to do to protect themselves from places where the personnel do not wear face covering, and most customers do not comply? I was tested on Oct. 30. After "Community " exposure do I and the vulnerable people I deal with (shopping, other contact) get tested, isolate? Need to know how to go about daily living now that the virus has hit a new high in our area.

Thank you for your question. We recommend that, particularly our vulnerable populations, limit exposure through businesses that are not compliant with the masking and social distancing mandate in California.  If you must patronize these businesses out of necessity some things to consider could be curb side pick-up. What criteria must be met for a person in the "active case" category to be moved to the "recovered" category?
Answer:

An individual in the "active case' is lab confirmed positive for COVID-19. To move to the "recovered category" the following applies based on the presentation:

Positive individuals without symptoms:  If the individual continues to have no symptoms, they are removed from isolation (recovered) after 10 days have passed since their positive viral test for COVID-19.

I've read your answer to why press releases are not following increases on dash board however don't understand why less information/fewer press releases/less communication is the answer to helping me feel safe during increased cases. The dashboard is colorful, for those that understand how to read graphs. Some need the new information spelled out for them. Seems shady if pulling back after being forthcoming. Should I Screencast every graph and compare to then speculate? I would rather just read facts.

Our team believes that the dashboard, updated daily, provides the most transparent information to the public and provides more information than a press release has historically done. We will issue press releases when indicated to inform our residents of situations that impact our communities' health and to inform our residents when changes occur that impact them.

Reporting area - What does this graph mean? I live in the 64% section of the graph. Does this mean that 64% of confirmed cases were from my area? OR is it that 64% of my area has been tested at least once for the virus?

The graph refers to confirmed positives so yes the 64% reflects the number of confirmed cases in your area.

Why haven't press releases accompanied the changes in graph, like prior to the 9th of October?

The COVID-19 Dashboard is current as of 9:00 am October 20, 2020 and can be located at https://www.trinitycounty.org/COVID-19. This will be the primary source of covid-19 data. Moving forward the Dashboard will be updated Monday thru Friday by 3:00 pm each day. Previously, when the total case count has declined, it was explained in a press release (e.g., due to false positives, or due to person residing in another county). Why did the count decline by one on 10/15/20 (from 21 to 20)?
Answer:

This was an adjustment made due the inadvertent inclusion of a presumed positive that had not yet been lab confirmed, the Dashboard reflects only lab confirmed positive cases.
