Health care
- All veterans with a service connected disability rating are eligible for VA health care
- Veterans who did not receive a dishonorable discharge and who meet the following criteria are also eligible;
- Were exposed to ionizing radiation during atmospheric testing or during the occupation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or
- Participated in Project SHAD, or
- Served at least 30 days in Camp Lejeune, 08/01/1953 - 12/31/1987, or
- Received the Medal of Honor or Purple Heart, or were a POW, or
- Meet income limits, or
Presumptive Conditions for Radiation Exposure
- All cancers
- Non-malignant thyroid nodular disease
- Parathyroid adenoma
- Posterior subcapsular cataracts
- Tumors of the brain and nervous system
