Learn to use computers and the Internet with easy-to-understand lessons that are free to everyone! American River College in Sacramento has launched a comprehensive website (http://learn.caconnects.org) designed to help people understand the power the opportunities that the use of computers and the Internet can provide. The lessons on this site range from an introduction to basic computers parts to Internet security, shopping and job searches. The site has been written in such a way that everyone children through seniors and even those who have learned English as a second language can understand. The site was developed by the Foundation for California Community Colleges through a multimillion dollar grant from the U.S Department of Commerce. Part of the responsibility that came with the grant award was to help increase digital literacy and expand broadband Internet access throughout the State.
