Interlibrary Loan

To qualify for interlibrary loan service, you must have a valid library card and your record must be in good standing. You may request up to 5 interlibrary loans per month. You will be notified by phone or email when your request has arrived. You may pick up your requests at the library and must sign for them.

Due dates are set by the lender and vary according to the lender’s policies. Your due date will be clearly noted on the front of the book. The interlibrary loan service is currently free of charge but regular fines of $0.10/day apply to overdue items. There is also a $2.00 fee/item for interlibrary loans not picked up.

The Trinity County Library cannot purchase every book that is published. Our interlibrary loan service provides access to the collections of other libraries in California. You may request interlibrary loan service whenever the item you are seeking is not available in the Trinity County Library with some limitations. Most lenders won’t loan their “new” materials (6-12 months old), audios, videos, reference and special collections to other libraries. If you are interested in a book published within the last year, you can submit a request for it by filling out the form below.
